Cyprus in Spring holiday with Greenwings
Join Alice escaping winter to explore Aphrodite’s Isle, where spring comes early and orchids abound. Alongside a wide range of species, including endemic and regional specialities such as Orchis punctulata, Ophrys elegans and Ophrys kotschyi, there’s a great range of other spring flowers to enjoy, including Tulips, Crocuses and more. Butterflies such as Paphos Blue and Eastern Festoon will be on the wing, and among the birds, we can expect to see species such as Cyprus Wheatear, Sardinian Warbler, Zitting Cisticola, Chukar and Black Francolin, and we may encounter migratory species like Siberian Stonechat or Black Redstart. We’ll also take in some culture with a visit to the ruins of Kourion, one of the island’s most important city-kingdoms in antiquity. The Cyprus in Spring holiday with Greenwings is designed for a leisurely pace to enable photography and enjoy all aspects of the island and its nature.
For an insight into the species you might see, you might enjoy reading the two blogs Alice wrote about other travels to the island at the same time of year and visiting some of the same areas. Cyprus in Spring Part 1 and Cypriot Spring Part 2.
